Today I decided to focus on reading and writing from the perspective of the author Jason Reynolds.  He has written several titles you may be familiar with:  Ghost, American Boys, Look Both Ways, A Long Way Down and many more.

Jason Reynolds was born in Washington DC on December 6, 1983.  He has won several awards for his work including:  NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work,  Newbery Medal for A Long Way Down, and Audie Award for Middle School, just to name a few.

In this interview he discussed his book A Long Way Down.  He talks about the subject and purpose of the book, the structure he chose, as well as his goals for the readers of the book.

Check out the video and then check out Jason Reynolds!  You can find his books on many digital platforms.  Be sure to check out SORA and Audible for read aloud texts.
