Wednesday, March 25, 2020 Writing Wednesday!

“A picture is worth a thousand words.”  A famous quote by an unknown author. What does this mean exactly?  What is it about a picture that it can say so much?  There are so many iconic pictures that represent significant events in our history.  Below are just a few from the past and a few from the history we are living right now!  Use one of these pictures or one from your collection on your phone to inspire a story.  What story does the image tell?  Is it worth a thousand words?

Well…we have one week in the books!  So proud of our LSGA students who have been participating in the digital learning process!  LSGA teachers have been outstanding, as they embrace the challenges of teaching and engaging with students in a whole new way!

Today’s resource is from Audible.  They are providing a free platform of audio books for all ages.  This is just one way to access books!   Happy Listening!!

March 19, 2020 How far can your imagination take you?

Today I am sharing a link to a free online program called Imagineering in a Box!  Disney productions and Khan Academy has partnered together to create this unique opportunity to see behind the scenes of how Disney’s artists, designers and engineers work together to create theme parks.  I started with the Lesson 1 – Intro to creating worlds and was amazed at all of the creativity and job opportunities.

I hope you take some time to explore this unique course and consider how your unique talents and imagination could one day be a future career opportunity!

March 18, 2020 – What happens to all the socks?

We all have them..one lonely sock!  Two socks go into the laundry and only one comes out!  It is a mystery that often goes unsolved.  We could put our search parties, ask questions and even post a missing sock poster, but still no sock!  What happens to all the socks that go missing?  What about the poor sock left behind?

Today your writing task, if you choose to accept it, is to write a creative piece from the point of view of either the lost sock or the sock left behind.  You can choose any format you would like, a narrative (story), a poem, a letter, etc., the choice is yours!  Be creative!  When you are finished be sure to share your writing using the link below.  I will share some right here for everyone’s enjoyment!!
